Magik Theatre To Offer Mini-Camps in November and January
Looking for an exciting way to kick off the holidays? Join The Magik Theatre for fun at its Mini-Camps. Students will take intensive classes, play dramatic games, make new friends and see a Magik Theatre performance.
Thanksgiving Mini-Camp
November 19-21, 2018
Acting 101 (Ages 5-8). Hone your acting and movement skills while having a fantastic time at this Play in a Day workshop. Designed for both beginning and intermediate actors, this class will build students’ knowledge of character development and voice and allow them to explore physical movement and shape. Class size is limited, so sign up early.
Musical Theatre Marathon: Songs of the Holidays (Ages 7+). This Play in a Day workshop will let your triple threat learn choreography and lyrics to their favorite songs of the holidays. Participants will learn the ins and outs of singing and dancing while preparing a short musical revue. Class size is limited — it will fill up fast, so enroll today.
The Thanksgiving Camp will be held at both The Magik Theatre downtown, next door to Hemisfair’s new Yanaguana Garden, and at the Magik Performing Arts Center near I-10 and UTSA Blvd.
Winter Mini-Camp
January 2-4, 2019
Magikal Adventures (Ages 5-8). Hone your acting and movement skills while having a fantastic time at this Play in a Day workshop. Designed for both beginning and intermediate actors, this class will build students’ knowledge of character development and voice and allow them to explore physical movement and shape. Students will take themes from their favorite books to develop into small scenelets for performance at the end of each session! Class size is limited, so sign up early.
Musical Theatre Marathon: Into the Woods Jr. (Ages 7+). Gear up for our Spring Academy production of Into the Woods Jr. with this Play in a Day workshop! Your triple threat will learn the audition process as well as the choreography and music to a few songs from this beloved musical. Class size is limited — it will fill up fast, so enroll today.
The Holiday Camp will only be held at the Magik Performing Arts Center. Please be sure to choose the correct location when registering.
