Location Announced for Saturday’s Agarita Multimedia Performance with the Art of Gini Garcia

Who: Agarita + Gini Garcia, glass artist

What: Join Agarita, San Antonio’s innovative chamber ensemble, and their collaboration with renowned local glass-blower Gini Garcia for a concert inspired by her art and process. This socially distanced concert is FREE and open to the public (please wear masks).

Agarita and Gini are collaborating with lighting artist Chuck Drew and visual artist Patrick McMillan to produce a changing luminous display for the live show using Gini’s glass works as a filter, revealing the colorful inner world of her glassworks by projecting them against the large warehouse walls. Additionally, Gini is producing a new glass artwork specifically for this program based on the musical selections, to be displayed during the concert.

Musical choices throughout the program are inspired by the glassblowing process. Featuring music by Kerekes, Kenji Bunch, Piazzolla, Reich, Rachmaninoff and Kapustin.

Special guest artists include: Jessica Petrasek, flute and Joseph Petrasek, percussion. The concert is FREE and open to all.
